If you had a good old laugh at Arnott’s silly “Sh-april Fool’s Day” stunt this morning, it turns out, the jokes on you.

Arnott’s have revealed this afternoon that the faux Shapes are actually for real. That’s right, ham and pineapple pizza Shapes do exist.

Responses to this morning’s “prank” were surprisingly positive, with fans commenting “I would legit buy this” and “don’t do this to me, this actually needs to happen”. Well Simon, you got your wish.

The new sweet and salty snack is seasoned with smokey ham, tasty cheese and tomato finished with a juicy hit of pineapple.

Shannon Wright, Arnott’s Marketing Manager says: “Pineapple on pizza is such a controversial topic that although this flavour started in our Master Baker Kitchen, we tested it as a Shapes April Fool’s Day prank on social media!

Once we saw how Shapes fans reacted online, we knew the savoury/sweet/tangy combination of Hawaiian Pizza was an absolute winner. Pineapple fans will have to get their fix while they can, this limited-edition flavour won’t last long!”

New Shapes Hawaiian Pizza will be priced at $3.20 from select supermarkets nationwide from mid-May.
