Surry Hills haunt, Bar Suze has transformed from a Nordic-inspired wine bar into an Italo-American pasta palace. The Foveaux Street diner was an instant hit when it opened in 2021, and its rebrand comes at a time when it was at the top of its game.

Now known as BS Pasta Palace, a name brandished in bright white cursive on the back bar, the neighbourhood eatery takes its culinary cues from America’s red sauce restaurants – think spaghetti and meatballs, fettucini alfredo, and fried with old bay seasoning.
Proving that the gang still don’t take themselves too seriously, chicken and eggplant parms, garlic bread, and plates of salami also feature on the menu.

Keeping with the European theme, also in the works from the BS team is a soon-to-open Parisian(ish) restaurant in Potts Point called Caravin.
Currently undergoing some massive renovations, the terrace-style building on Ward Avenue (the former Dumplings & Beer space) joins the ranks of inner east hotspots like Ezra (and Ezra’s opening-soon sister venue, Raja), Piccolo Bar, Metisse and Bones Ramen.
Caravin is slated to open in spring 2023. For more details, head to @barsuze.
