Black Star Pastry has opened a stylish new cake counter in the Sydney CBD

And they've created a new chocolate peanut cake to celebrate.

Black Star Pastry has launched a new cake shop in the Sydney CBD, with all the pastry items that you love, along with a dedicated ‘Take Cake’ counter for quick and easy pick-up of your sugary prize.

The beautifully decorated shopfront reveals a dramatic peeled back facade, inspired by the idea of turning a page – a nod to its original CBD location in the Kinokuniya bookstore and a new chapter in the Black Star story.

Black Star at The Galeries will open at 8am with Little Marionette coffee, croissants and pastries and cake for breakfast, if that’s your thing. For a short time, you’ll also be able to get your hands on a black truffle toastie, made from potato focaccia and filled with a black truffle bechamel, smoked ham and melty gruyere cheese.

To celebrate the new store, Black Star Pastry has released a new peanut, chocolate and caramel tart, made from almond shortbread layered with salted peanut caramel and milk and dark chocolate ganache with caramelised rice puffs. It’s just the excuse you needed to try the cake counter out.

Black Star Pastry Sydney CBD opens this Saturday, August 1.
