Just in: Woolworths adds two limit rule to everything in store

Only a handful of essentials will be exempt.

Woolworths has gone one step further with its buying restrictions, adding a two limit rule to all items in-store, unless otherwise specified.

The new rules will apply to categories, such as pasta, flour, sugar, rather than brands or varieties.

Previous restrictions will remain in place, that includes toilet paper, antibacterial wipes, baby wipes, paper towels, rice and serviettes, which will remain capped at one pack per person.

Meanwhile, some fresh food products and essentials will be exempt from the new rules. This includes fresh fruit and vegetables, meat (not mince), seafood, fresh milk, canned fish, beverages, baby food, dog and cat food, yoghurt and Easter confectionery.

The decision follows weeks of empty shelves as panic buyers continue to clear stock faster than it can be replenished.
