Cadbury is bringing back Caramilk to distract us from the real prize - Caramilk Hokey Pokey

It's a peace offering, but is it enough?

One of the most coveted of all the Cadbury chocolate blocks is making a comeback, after just a few short months off shelves.

Cadbury made the announcement on its official Facebook page last Sunday, however, it didn’t give an exact date on when the blocks would go on sale.

Cadbury Caramilk was first launched in Australia in 1968, before being discontinued in 1994. It returned in 2018 and 2019, which means 2020 will be the third time that the block’s come back.

The relaunch has prompted consumers to ask why it isn’t just added to the permanent range – ideally, in place of Snack or Fruit and Nut.

It’s not hard to see the appeal of the god-tier chocolate bar, which is made from caramelised white chocolate and boasts a smooth, creamy texture.

Caramilk Hokey Pokey

The only block better than Caramilk appears to be this incredible looking Caramilk Hokey Pokey complete with toffee pieces, which Cadbury is launching in New Zealand this year, but is not coming to Australia. I repeat, it is not coming to Australia.

The announcement was met with anger online, with Australians demanding Hokey Pokey, as they should. Cadbury has come back with regular old Caramilk as a peace offering. The question is – is it enough or do we rage on until our cocoa demands are met?
