Hot on the heels of Society and Yakimono, Chris Lucas continues to blaze a trail across Melbourne with his latest restaurant, Grill Americano, which is slated to open on March 21.

This time around, Lucas is forging his name in fire with a 145-seater Italian grill and bar located within the prestigious 101 Collins Street building.

As the name suggests, the restaurant will revolve around a woodfire grill, which will be joined by a bespoke wood oven imported from Naples. Diners can expect a selection of Northern Italian classics, from bistecca alla Fiorentina to handmade pastas and slow-cooked braises, delivered by a team of suited waiters.

“The opening of Grill Americano exemplifies my determination to rebuild Melbourne’s famed restaurant culture following two years of lockdowns that saw our beloved restaurant industry suffer so much.
