Bunnings to open later and close earlier

Bunnings.

Trade customers and emergency workers will be given exclusive early access.

Starting this week, Bunnings will open to the general public from 9am on weekdays rather than the usual 6am. It will also start closing at 7pm.

The change to trading hours will enable staff to restock shelves as well as give the store a thorough clean each morning.

Trade customers, as well as health and emergency services, will be given exclusive access from 6am – 9am.

Bunnings managing director Mike Schneider said health and emergency services were doing an incredible job, and the company wanted them to have an opportunity to access the products they needed.

“For tradies, it’s about keeping their businesses running and getting the items they need to help with vital maintenance and repair projects,” Mr Schneider said.

Like Coles and Woolworths, Bunnings has also put buying restrictions on many of its products. Shoppers are limited to purchasing four cleaning and storage products, garden sprayers and batteries per person, while generators, gas bottles, respirators, face masks, fuel cans, methylated spirits and turpentine, are currently capped at one per customer.

Weekend hours will remain the same.
