Including takeaway and delivery.
McDonald’s has announced that it will close all of its 1,350 restaurants in the UK today.
The decision comes three days after Boris Johnson called for the closure of all dine-in restaurants, bars and cafes across the country.
The company had already stopped dine-in service but was still offering pick-up and take-away.
McDonald’s UK CEO Paul Pomroy said: “Over the last 24 hours, it has become clear that maintaining safe social distancing whilst operating busy takeaway and Drive Thru restaurants is increasingly difficult.
“This is not a decision we are taking lightly, but one made with the wellbeing and safety of our employees in mind as well as in the best interests of our customers.”
McDonald’s has also closed its operations in Ireland.
In Australia, restaurants, bars and cafes have been ordered to cease dine-in service, however, pick-up and delivery is still currently available.
