It’s the Charlie’s Angels remake we didn’t know we needed.
In tonight’s episode of Charlie’s Angels, four contestants from the MasterChef kitchen go up against Lucy Liu in an epic East meets West showdown.
The two teams have just two and half hours to plate up a three-course meal using ingredients from either an Eastern or European pantry or the kitchen will explode (probably).

Jock attempts to intimidate the team from Lucy Liu: “Every team that has competed in the MasterChef kitchen has won,” he says. Or in other words, one team.
To determine who gets what pantry, Andy does what he does best – flips a coin – with the advantage awarded to head chef Jenna North, who pick the Eastern pantry, which leaves Brent, Kishwar, Tom and Aaron with the European pantry
Would it be weird if I opened a pan-European restaurant and called it “Leonardo DiCaprio”? #MasterChefAU

The team from Lucy Liu will be recreating some of their most famous dishes from the restaurant, only this time around, they’ll need to use Coles ingredients in place of their usual premium sauces and spices. They certainly don’t look too impressed with the Lee Kum Kee.

Meanwhile, the red team push themselves to their limits to plate up crispy fried zucchini flowers stuffed with scampi mousse and tarragon mayonnaise.
For the mains, Kishwar finds a way to make a curry, this time around it’s a North African-style black curry with oxtail and roti.
Lucy Liu plates up another classic from their menu, a Korean san choy bow with musaengchae.

And to conclude this epic battle, Tom makes a several-hundred-layer berry and white chocolate entremet with hazelnut sable, hazelnut financier, raspberry milk, blackberry jelly and a white chocolate mirror glaze, while over on the Lucy Liu team, they’re boiling tins to make a chocolate condensed milk.
If I’d know Yogo was #MasterchefAU worthy I would have auditioned this year

The judges declare the MasterChef team as the champions, winning entrée and main, while losing to Lucy Liu on desserts. While both main courses were described as exceptional, special mention went to Kishwar’s curry, which was described as a mic drop moment.
#MasterChefAU Behind the scenes, the judges are being informed that Red Team should win, with the professionals having gravly insulted Coles’ selection of sauces.
