They finally beat Pete.
Tonight’s episode of MasterChef takes us to the spiritual heart of Australia so the rest of us can see exactly what we’re missing out on.
And if you haven’t already thrown out your bucket list in a rage, you will definitely want to add Uluru to it.
Contestants have two-and-a-half hours to create a three-course fine-dining meal under the stars and it sure beats crying into a bowl of soup at home.

The contestants are separated into two teams of four, and by sheer luck, all the best contestants are on one side.
On the orange team, there’s Depinder, Pete, Kishwar and Tommy, and on the yellow team, there’s Justin, Sabina, Elise and Linda. No points for guessing who will win.
Pete, Tommy, Kishwar, Depinder… Clearly I know which team I’m rooting for 🤣 (Sorry Justin!!) #MasterchefAU

Pete takes on the role of captain of the orange team and naturally Justin is threatened.
“Pete, how do you feel about losing today?” he says, delivering the ultimate burn.
“What do we need to do?” Justin chants. “We need to beat Pete!” the yellow team chants in response.
Pete tries to trash talk back. “That’s just rude and unnecessary,” he says. And yeah! Take that, Justin! BOOM!
It’s extremely tense, a wedgie could happen at any moment.
Inspired by the site’s extreme beauty and significance, and also by Outback Steakhouse, the blue team decides to do a pepper steak with an onion ring.
Jock questions whether onion rings are fine-dining and why would someone try to sabotage their own meal like that?
Did you ever stop to think that maybe more people would appreciate fine dining if there were more onion rings, Jock? #MasterchefAU

The blue team slops out a beetroot soup and undercooked pepper steak, while the orange team surprises and delights with a banksia flower, made from carrot petals with sweet potato and saltbush, and seared kangaroo in an emu consomme inspired by the Coat of Arms.
Now, of all moments, is the time that Depinder decides to make her first mistake in the competition and it’s a doozy. She goes hard on the titanium strength gelatine, which turns her wattleseed pannacotta into an unappetising wedge of rubber.
Panna cotta too gelatine forward? #MasterChefAU

It’s a fatal error and one that remarkably sends the orange team through to an elimination
You mean to tell me either Depinder, Kishwar, Pete or Tommy will be going home before Elise, Sabina, Justin or Linda?! Make it make sense. #masterchefau
