Another great restaurant has fallen victim to the current crisis.
One of the country’s best restaurants has announced that it will close its doors permanently as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Franklin in Hobart was named by delicious. as one of the top 15 restaurants in the country last year. delicious. reviewer Max Brearley described the diner as being “as honest and open as it is brave” and “that it could hold its own in any of the capitals.”
The announcement was made on Franklin’s Instagram page yesterday. “It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Franklin’s doors won’t be re-opening,” the post read.
“A massive thank you to our staff some of whom have been with us since the beginning and to those whom have been with us in the past, we thank you too.
“It’s difficult times and we wish everyone in the industry the best and again thank you for your support. Look after each other.”
It’s not the first restaurant to have fallen victim to the coronavirus pandemic. Other closures include Brisbane’s Arc Dining Room & Bar and Longrain in Melbourne, however, the full effect of the hospitality shutdown is still yet to be seen.
With many restaurants now permitted to seat just 10 patrons at a time, you can support the hospitality industry by dining in or ordering pick-up or takeaway.
