For the first time, you'll be able to take your pick from the drinks.
Drinking less vin and more gin these days? You’re not the only one. With the growing popularity of many new alcoholic (and even non-alcoholic) drinks, gourmet getaway, Noosa Food & Wine, has decided to embrace the change, rebranding their annual foodie festival as Noosa Eat & Drink.
So, what does this mean exactly? Essentially, you’ll still have access to all the Shiraz, Chardonnay and Semillon you can quaff, but starting from next year, the festival will also embrace a bevy of new beverages, from craft beers to boozy kombuchas, small-batch spirits, and artisan coffee.

Festival Director Sheridah Puttick said: “We really felt it was time to represent what the Noosa Festival is about, a true celebration of Australian eating and drinking. Drinking wine for sure, but also drinking a myriad of other delicious things, many of which are distinctively home-grown.
“In recent years Noosa and surrounds has seen a mini-boom in local breweries, craft distilleries and coffee roasters so the festival name now better reflects our region. We’re excited to be making the change and leading the way by representing the full spectrum of the world of drinks at the Festival.”

Naturally, wine will continue to be a focus for the festival, with next year’s event set to include well-known wineries like Vanya Cullen, Shaw + Smith and Dal Zotto, alongside local drink producers like Heads of Noosa Brewing Co, Fortune Distillery, and Diablo Alcoholic Ginger Beer.
And let’s not forget about the food. While it’s still early days yet, the festival has already secured some top talent for 2020, including acclaimed chef Alanna Sapwell from ARC Dining – which was just awarded Qld’s number 1 restaurant in the delicious. 100 – as well as Jonathan Barthlemess from Greca and Yoko Dining, Ben Bertei from Longtime and Louis Tikaram from soon-to-open Cantonese diner, Stanley.

Each year, over 10,000 gourmands gather at the beachside town of Noosa to partake in the four-day bacchanalian festival, which is made up of a smorgasbord of events, from high-profile restaurant takeovers to beachside brunches, foodie masterclasses, tastings and demonstrations, live entertainment and just general late night revelry.
