Take your gingerbread house to the next level this Christmas with Ikea’s new range of edible gingerbread furniture, which is styled just like its real-life range.

If you thought assembling a Jokkmokk table was challenging enough,  just wait until you try doing it with gingerbread and icing. To make your own edible living room set, simply head to the Ikea Australia website where you can download the cut-out templates and step-by-step instructions for free (no allen key required).

You can kit out your cookie house with a Billy bookcase, Jokkmokk table and chairs, Lack table, Rens rug, Strandmon armchair and Malm bed frame, because where else would a gingerbread man sleep?

If you’re not confident in your baking and building skills, Ikea also sells Vintersaga gingerbread dough, baking glue and a ready-made gingerbread house, so you can really focus on the interior decorating.

“At Ikea, we believe every house deserves to feel like a home – even if it’s made of deliciously sweet gingerbread,” the Ikea website reads. “Our Gingerbread Höme kit includes furniture-shaped cookie cutters and simple instructions, so you can furnish your gingerbread house with edible versions of iconic Ikea furniture.

“Simply cut out the templates, trace around them to cut out pieces of gingerbread, bake, assemble, and decorate!”
