You haven’t lived until you’ve eaten a curry bomb. And this colourful Indian restaurant is giving them out for free in March.
So what exactly is a curry bomb?
According to Masala Theory in Surry Hills, they’re world famous for good reason. The crisp one-bite puri shells are filled with various fragrant curries, and head chef Sreekanth Munnangi has made more than a few of them in his time at the hip Neo-Indian eatery on Crown Street.
The carnivorous option is a mixture of butter chicken-style marinated chook and paneer cheese, heady with tamarind, cumin and coriander, while the veg-friendly option leans heavier on the paneer. Both come with a summery makhani masala sauce.
For the month of March, as part of the inaugural American Express delicious. Month Out, Masala Theory will give you a plate of eight curry bombs when your bill comes to $100.
With a menu that swings from the more traditional likes of Gujarati green lentils with cashews and tomato chutney, to mod-leaning mashups such as smoked beetroot and buttermilk panna cotta come dessert, it won’t be hard to win the curry bomb lottery.
Plus even better news? It’s BYO.
