It’s the only side order that stands up to fries – crispy, golden onion rings – and now you get your greasy hands on them at McDonald’s restaurants nationwide.

The battered rings are made from Australian onions and come with a side of Southern BBQ sauce.

It’s one of three new items to hit the McDonald’s menu for the summer.

Joining the onion rings will bea chicken Big Mac made from two golden chicken patties, with lettuce, onion, cheese and pickles, smothered with Big Mac special sauce.

The classic Big Mac has also been given a crispy update. A new Bacon Big Mac features all the ingredients you know and love, with the delicious addition of crispy bacon rashers.

The three new limited-edition menu items will be available at McDonald’s restaurants nationwide from Wednesday, December 1.
