It will be the first global offering since chicken nuggets were added to the core menu in 1983.
“Big” Mac? You wish. Macca’s has just unleashed its biggest burger yet and it puts the classic Big Mac to shame. Know as ‘The Big Arch’, the behemoth burger contains two beef patties, three layers of cheese, crispy onions, sliced onions, pickles, lettuce and a new tangy sauce made especially for the Big Arch.
Weighing in at 14 ounces (that’s about 400 grams in new money), the Big Arch is nearly four times the weight of a Quarter Pounder. And not that we’re counting – life’s too short for that – but the Big Arch also contains 1,065 calories and 67 grams of fat, which is 96% of the recommended daily fat intake for adults.
The burger intends to be a “quintessential McDonald’s burger with a twist on our iconic, familiar flavours,” said McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski.

A dramatic and galactic teaser reel for the Big Arch dropped on McDonald’s social media last week and got fans hyped for the Big Reveal.
One commenter hilariously said of the advertisement, “Portugal McDonald’s, go crazy.” The ad is pretty epic.
Will the Big Arch burger come to Australia?
The monster Mac is being trialled in selected stores across Canada and Portugal at the moment. If the internet’s response is anything to go by, we reckon we’ll be seeing the burger lumber into other countries sooner rather than later.
