Henrietta serves Middle Eastern chook with all the trimmings – chips, pickles, pita and toum included.
Prepare to get chicken shop envy. A new charcoal chicken restaurant, bar and takeaway shop by Nour owners Ibby Moubadder and Jorge Farah has just opened in Surry Hills and it’s slinging some seriously good chook.
Not your usual roast with peas, mash and gravy, Henrietta specialises in Middle Eastern spiced charcoal chicken, served with chips, tabouleh, pickles, garlic toum and pita. “We’re not going to complicate this with an over-the-top menu, rather we’re focussing on providing the best-tasting charcoal chicken in town,” Moubadder said.

The menu also includes a few non-traditional items too, from chicken tawook spring rolls to beef brisket shawarma tacos and falafel baos, with a baklava ice cream sundae for dessert.
Beyond the soft drinks, Henrietta also shakes up a few fun and fruity cocktails from the in-house bar, including a spicy passionfruit margarita and slushie martini, alongside beers and wines.

The 70-seater venue has been designed by DS17, the studio behind Nour’s much-lauded stylings. It features a light-filled dining room in concrete and terrazzo, with additional seating on the street should you wish to perch in the sun. For those looking to swoop in and out, there’s also a takeaway window out front.
