Just wait until you hear what they're doing next.

Two decades after it first opened its doors on Flinders Lane, Teage Ezard’s eponymous fine diner has closed.

Ezard made the announcement on Instagram yesterday. “For many months, we have been evaluating, reshaping and planning for exciting new projects to come in early 2021. As a company, we’re exploring casual dining and experiential ventures and are excited to take our Ezard family along for this chapter,” he said in a statement.

“We have had a fantastic 20 years on Flinders Lane and I am very grateful for the experiences I have had and when I reflect back, I feel very proud and honoured to have served for many happy people.”

The beloved basement venue was ranked 24 in the delicious. 100  for 2019. Fans of the fine diner can expect a new more casual dining concept led by Teage to crop up in Melbourne’s inner city sometime next year.

Ezard has confirmed plans for a new Japanese-Korean eatery that will be similar in style to his streetfood eatery, Gingerboy.

The new venue will be fun and fast-casual, with a menu that focuses on Japanese and Korean cuisine, with elements of modern Indian.
