The pasticceria will serve up focaccia slab-style pizza by the slice alongside an impressive selection of pastries.

Alexandria is about to get a slice of Da Orazio’s famous focaccia, plus an impressive selection of daily changing Italian cakes and pastries.

Da Orazio chef Orazio D’Elia has teamed up with Italian pastry chef Riccardo Falcone (Rockpool, Icebergs Dining Room & Bar) to open Mia Dolci Italiani.

“In Australia, we have bakeries on every corner, in our hometown it is pasticceria,” Orazio D’Elia said. “After meeting Riccardo we forged a true friendship whilst bonding over our upbringings and love of Italian food, we decided we wanted to bring a piece of our heritage here in Sydney.”

The 400sqm space will be home to a cafe, bakery and cake shop, with customers invited to sit down and enjoy espresso coffee and pick out pizza al taglio and freshly baked pastries from the glass display.

Already planning your order? Expect Italian sweet treats like ricotta cannoli,  delizia al limone, rum baba, torta della nonna and crostata di frutta, and more. If you’re loco for cocoa, you’ll be able to indulge your dark desires in a dedicated chocolate room.

Orazio D’Elia may be famous for his porchetta focaccia at Da Orazio, but at Mia Dolci it will be all about focaccia slab-style pizza, which will be available by the slice.

Mia Dolci will open in early December at 200 Euston Road, Alexandria.
