Moon Dog World has teased us with its arrival for months, with the venue now officially ready to greet visitors into its one-of-a kind world. Located in Preston, Melbourne, the jungle-themed brewpub is a boozy adults oasis. 

The site chosen for the brewery is huge. Like bigger-than-the-MCG huge. A staggering 12,00 square metres in size with a 725-person capacity to boot, the warehouse-style space is a significant step-up from its original Abbotsford digs. The only problem its owners faced was, how they going to fill all this space. The obvious choice was to kit it out with an indoor waterfall, rainforest walk, lagoon and hidden tiki bar – transforming it into the adult version of Disneyland. 

On the food front, three distinct menu options are available. The sharing menu includes chipotle beef short ribs, szechuan eggplant and baby corn dogs. The burger list has everything from plant-based burgers to meatballs subs, while the charcoal menu will be serving up rotisserie chickens and a variety of sides like corn and slaw. The dessert offering includes all the usual suspects, like brownies and pavlovas. There’s also plenty of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. 

Wash it all down with an Australian-only wine list and your choice of 72 beers on tap. With a brewing capacity of more than 10 million litres annually, we’re almost certain nobody will ever go thirsty here.

Moon Dog World is already a hit with its larger than life decor and adult appeal – it’s shaping up to be the summer hot spot of 2019.
