Move over gingerbread house, the charcuterie chalet is back

Charcuterie.

When can we move in?

While the gingerbread house is a traditional festive treat, not everyone wants to eat their body weight in stale cake (but don’t let us deter you if that’s your plan).

If you’re more into savoury than sweet, you might prefer to demolish a charcuterie chalet. The snackable structure is typically paved from crackers with cream cheese or dip, layered with salami or pepperoni tiles, pretzel windows and grissini stick detailing.

Some of the more creative cottages also use a variety of crudités to make a garden and don’t forget the parmesan shavings for a little snow on the roof.

While there’s a little bit more skill involved than with its gingery equivalent, if it doesn’t work out, you can always scoff the building materials and no one needs to know.
