Neil Perry to restart charity meals in the Sydney CBD

Hope Delivery is back.

The Rockpool Group’s charitable initiative, Hope Delivery, will be making a comeback this year after securing a new site in the Sydney CBD.

Hope Delivery launched last year at the onset of the pandemic as a way to feed international students, visa holders and unemployed hospitality workers that were ineligible for government assistance. Its ambitions have since grown, and it now caters to a raft of vulnerable and underprivileged people including refugees and the homeless, as well as refuge and crisis centres. Last year, they created over 300,000 meals for people in need.

The operation was initially run out of the Rockpool Group’s kitchens, but now that many of these restaurants have re-opened, Neil has spent the past few months searching for a new site to set up shop.

“We’re looking for a nice benevolent landlord who can give us a good deal so we can continue to make sure all the dollars we raise go into meals,” Perry told delicious. late last year.

And such a landlord has been found. Hope Delivery has been offered a kitchen and facilities in Stockland Piccadilly in the Sydney CBD.

For the first time, Hope Delivery will also start selling their meals to city workers, which will fund even more charitable meals.

“As life starts to regain momentum and doors begin to reopen, we know that the road ahead is long. Now more than ever is the time to work harder and continue to look after those who are in need. We will continue to feed the vulnerable, the greater community and especially those of our hospitality Visa staff who have slipped through the safety net,” Perry said.
