Get your fishy fix at Australia's first 24/7 oyster vending machine

Oysters

That's a big 'yes!' from us.

Forget a packet of chips and a Twix bar, this vending machine is the bougie grab-and-go that we’ve been waiting for. Stocked with freshly shucked oysters, sweet-salty prawns, and bags of plump mussels, Oysters Xpress in SA’s Coffin Bay (a seven-hour drive from Adelaide) is the clever time-saver by Oyster HQ for 24/7 seafood supplies.

As part of the Coffin Bay Oyster Farm Tours collective, Oysters Xpress is co-founders Kim Thomas and Ben Catterall’s innovative way of providing customers with a convenient and novel way to get their hands on fresh seafood from the region’s oyster farms.

The vending machine itself is restocked regularly to ensure the produce is at its best, and is operated via a keypad. Customers only need to punch in their selection and the refrigerated locker can be accessed at any hour of the day.

As fun as the vending machine is, that’s not the only drawcard at Oyster HQ. The beautiful waterfront restaurant specialises in all things seafood and is a sister business to Catterall and Thomas’ immersive (literally) oyster farm tours.

Oyster HQ (and Oysters Xpress) can be found at 100 Esplanade, Coffin Bay.
