If there’s one thing the world needs right now, it’s more Mary’s burgers.

To cap off an already great week that saw many Sydney restaurants and bars reopen their doors, Mary’s has announced that it is launching a new rooftop burger joint in Chippendale.

Mary’s On Top will land on the rooftop of the Lansdowne Hotel this Thursday, June 4, with a laidback menu of burgers and beers.

Burgerphiles can expect all the Mary’s classics, including the mother-of-them-all Mary’s burger with trashcan bacon, as well as their extra crinkly fried chicken, mash n gravy, and the complete vegan menu.

Mary’s boys Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham took over the Lansdowne in 2017, and have always had their eye on the rooftop as a possible Mary’s outpost.

“It’s always been sitting there, taunting us with its proximity and promise. Now with the world gone crazy, we figured we would match that craziness by opening a f**** venue in the midst of the COVID mess,” Smyth said.

“Being the positive little bunch that we are, and the fact that we like to do things to the beat of our own irregular drum, we are not only reopening closed venues, we’re also adding a little kicker and opening a brand new piece of the puzzle which we know will be a great asset to the inner west and allow us to dream positively about the future while we gaze whimsically at the stars, literally,” Graham added.

To top it off, Mary’s is also offering 30% off the food menu at all of their venues in solidarity with the workers who have lost their jobs or been forced to take pay cuts. The offer is available for both dine-in and takeaway.
