A visit to Victor Churchill is certainly a different experience to your usual trip to the butchers.

The family business was started by father-and-son team Victor and Anthony Puharich in 1996 in the Eastern Sydney suburb of Woollahra. “We wanted to test the boundaries of what most people thought a typical butcher shop looked like,” Anthony said.

The late Anthony Bourdain famously called the meat boutique “the most beautiful butcher shop in the world.” However, beyond its beautiful bones, you’ll find the country’s best meat. Sparkling full-length glass cabinets reveal an array of premium goods, from Blackmore wagyu and Kurobata black Berkshire pork to house-made pates, terrines, sauces and marinades.  “We offer a very bespoke experience, and that means that people can have their meat cut to whatever thickness they want, and that’s why us butchers are on display and we’re here to interact with the customer and offer that very personalised and bespoke experience,” Anthony said.

Following recent events, Anthony decided to fast track his plans to bring his business online. “We are now able to offer all of our remarkable, unique and beautiful handmade products, not just in our bricks and mortar store but also online.”
