Introducing The Aphrodite Halloumi Bagel of Love.

Attention cheese fiends, Ellie and Sam Studd (aka The Studd Siblings) have teamed up with Bondi’s Lox in a Box to create an epic new bagel that trades up the usual cream cheese schmear for crispy fried halloumi.

Ellie and Sam are the youngest children of master cheese specialist Will Studd, they also have a monthly cheese column in delicious. magazine.

As you might have expected, this is no ordinary bagel my friends. Called The Aphrodite Halloumi Bagel of Love, the new menu item comes generously stacked with crispy Southern-fried halloumi, bread and butter pickles, jalapeño slaw and Louisiana hot sauce.

The cheese in question is Aphrodite Halloumi, which is handmade in Cyprus from a combination of ewe and goat milk. “The shepherds who create the halloumi have been doing so for generations and are full of so much character and centuries of tradition. Each Halloumi is drained in wicker baskets, before being hand-folded into its unique pocket shape. The Aphrodite Halloumi is a shining example of what we fight to keep alive, the passion and craftsmanship of handmade cheese that has the most incredible lemony tang from the goat milk, golden crust from the ewe milk and no rubbery texture,” the Studd Siblings said.

But you better be quick, The Aphrodite Halloumi Bagel of Love is available to order in-store on weekends only, from July 25 – August 23. Cheesy come, cheesy go.
