Just in: Supermarkets in SA to start trading 24 hours a day

No more lining up at 6am.

While supermarkets in NSW have reduced their hours, SA has gone in a different direction, introducing 24-hour trading.

The new temporary trade times will commence from Saturday, March 21 and run until Sunday, April 19. During this period, supermarkets will be able to trade 24 hours a day during the weekdays, if they so wish.

Weekend shopping hours have also been extended, with supermarkets now able to trade for 21 hours on Saturdays (between 12am – 9pm) and 12 hours on Sundays (9am – 9pm).

The new measures are designed to give shoppers more flexibility, and will also mean more work available for those looking to pick up shifts.
