Tokyo Lamington has launched a Vietnamese curry lamington for Lunar New Year

Inspired by the Year of the Ox, the luxe lammo is made from two savoury sponges filled with beef red curry katsu, and coated in toasted coconut and fried shallots.

While it may not deliver good health or prosperity, Tokyo Lamington’s new Vietnamese curry lamington will almost certainly give you happiness, and possibly good luck, too.

To celebrate the start of the Lunar New Year, Cuong Nguyen, head chef and owner of Vietnamese restaurant Hello Auntie, has teamed up Tokyo Lamington to create three new lunar lamingtons, featuring Asian fusion flavours.

The tasty trio includes a pandan and coconut lamington, filled with pandan custard and dipped in pandan white chocolate; a pineapple tart lamington pumped with pineapple jam and coated in butter cookie crumbs; and, last but not least, a Vietnamese curry lamington. Inspired by the Year of the Ox, the savoury snack is made from two lamington sponge cakes, filled with MB2 beef red curry katsu and coated in cocoa butter, toasted coconut and fried shallots.

Hello Auntie x Tokyo Lamington Lunar Lamingtons will be available from Friday, February 12 – Sunday, February 21 outside Hello Auntie Darling Square at the Hello Auntie x Tokyo Lamington pop-up cart for $7 each, or $21 for three.
