It has started.

Today, Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced new restrictions for all indoor hospitality venues in NSW.

Earlier in the week, pubs and clubs were forced to limit group bookings to 10 people, down from 20, this will now apply to all cafes, restaurants and bars across the state. The four-square metre rule will continue to apply to all venues regardless of their size. Pubs and clubs are currently capped at 300 people, with all large venues with a capacity of 250 and over required to have a COVID safe Hygiene Marshall on duty.

“We absolutely need everybody seated when they are in a venue. No mingling,” Ms Berejiklian said.

As of today, there have been no changes made to gatherings in the home, with 20 visitors still allowed. Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant has recommended that the number be limited to 10 people as a precautionary approach.

More details to come.
