Who wants cucumber sandwiches when you can have baked camembert and truffled brie.
High Cheese, the new and improved version of high tea, has returned to The Westin in Melbourne this winter. This year’s event can be enjoyed in the elegant surrounds of the hotel’s lobby lounge, or for the first time ever, from the comfort of your own couch.
Created in collaboration with Prahan Market’s ‘chapel of cheese’ Maker & Monger, the event includes a three-tiered feast of fancy fromages, starting with baked Le Conquerant Camembert with thyme and garlic, followed by Roquefort and cognac dip and L’Artisan Grand Fleuri layered brie with Victorian black truffles. For dessert, there’s Basque cheesecake with beurre noisette madeleines and a curd Fontainebleau.

The High Cheese at Home hamper includes all the same sweet and savoury treats from the restaurant, with the addition of a one-litre sack of Scarlet and Clove Mulled Wine to sip at home and a Maker & Monger tote bag.
“I’m so excited that this year’s High Cheese could coincide with Victoria truffle season, as it truly is a match made in heaven with the L’Artisan Grand Fleuri layered brie,” said Anthony Femia of Maker & Monger.
High Cheese will be held at The Westin Melbourne Lobby Lounge from Friday, July 3, from 11am – 8pm at a cost of $70 per person. The High Cheese at Home hamper is priced at $189 with enough cheese for two people. For more details or to make a booking, head to marriottdeals.com.au/highcheese.
