It’s the mud cake mash-up that dreams are made of. Today, Woolworth’s has announced the return of its cookies and cream flavoured mud cake made from fudgy white chocolate rippled with cookie pieces.

It’s not the first time the supermarket giant has gone rogue with its mud cake recipe. In previous years, the bakery team has experimented with a choc orange and birthday cake flavour, both of which sent mud cake fans into a meltdown. This is the first time the cookies and cream version has been available since its debut in 2020.

The staffroom staple is the subject of a number of online baking hacks, with many using the simple slab as a starting point for elaborate cake creations.

“Yes, you can have your cake and eat it too – Our Cookies and Cream Mud Cake is back in stores nationwide for a limited time only,” a Woolworths spokesperson confirmed in a statement.

“Our Cookies and Cream Mud Cake is handcrafted with a white chocolate mud cake base, finished with smooth white chocolate ganache and crumble cookie pieces.”

The Woolworths Cookies & Cream Mud cake retails for $7 and is available now in select stores, with nationwide roll-out coming soon, for a limited time only. woolworths.com.au
