The monochrome marvel was deemed technically perfect by new MasterChef judges Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen.
If you were one of the 1.8 million Aussies that tuned into the MasterChef premiere on Monday night, chances are you drooled all over your sofa when Reynold whipped out his first dessert of the season, White Noise.
Even Gordon Ramsay dropped his jaw, remarking that the dessert was simply “breathtaking” – and when has he ever said that before. Like many of Reynold’s creations, the dessert features more elements than you can poke a spoon at, from whipped coconut ganache to strawberry gum jelly, yoghurt gel, jasmine joconde and strawberry pebbles coated in white chocolate.
So, why are we still gushing about it two days later? Turns out, Reynold’s patisserie KOI Dessert Bar is now slinging White Noise mini-cakes that you can eat at home while you binge-watch Back to Win.
If you haven’t hit up the KOI counter before, the Sydney dessert shop specialises in stunning mirror-glazed capsule cakes topped with all kinds of fanciful discs and domes. Some of their most popular offerings including the strawberry pillow, made from almond sable with strawberry lychee mousse and the yuzu mango mousse cake coated in a white chocolate glaze.
White Noise is priced at $15 and is available to pick up from Koi Dessert Bar in Chippendale and Koi Dessert Kitchen in Ryde. Spend $30 and you can even have it delivered in Sydney. To put in an order, head to koidessertbar.com.au.
