The NT has done it again. Presenting the soy sauce martini with a dim sim garnish

The outback tavern is showing the city folk how it’s done.

There may be no cloche filled with applewood smoke, no burnt orange or dehydrated citrus wheel, but there’s no denying there’s something special about the newest addition to the Berry Springs Tavern’s cocktail list.

Called the soy sauce martini, the new concoction is made from Grey Goose vodka shaken with soy sauce, sesame oil and Sriracha, garnished with a crispy dim sim. The Northern Territory-based tavern also accommodates dietary requirements, offering a vegetarian and gluten-free version.

The State’s liquor licensing laws inspired the cocktail, which requires any retailer that sells soy sauce to possess a liquor license.

Following the new laws, the Berry Springs Tavern decided to add soy sauce to their back bar and are currently experimenting with a number of new drinks inspired by the salty black ‘liqueur’.

The cocktail has seen high interest online, however, it’s still yet to be ordered, despite the tavern running a two for one special this week.
