A new Euro-inspired wine bar is coming to Sydney's Coogee this spring

Sure, Coogee has its fair share of places where you can sink a beer or sip a spritz, but few where you can quaff a rare wine in slinky, small bar surrounds. That is, until September, when new vino-centric venue, Coogee Wine Room, launches just a block from the beach.

Owned by locals Tom Hardwick and Michelle Morales, the new drinking destination will combine the best in European wine bars with a relaxed, neighbourhood feel.

Naturally, the focus will be on the wines, with a list curated by Brooke Adey from Chiswick and Yellow, and co-owner Tom Hardwick. Winos will be able to choose from a selection that includes 400 bottles, with 30 drops available by the glass.

Food will be designed to pair with the wine (not the other way round), with a casual mod Med menu created by Sandro Di Marino from A Tavola. The offering will include ricotta ravioli tossed through with chestnut, parsnip and butter, baccala fritto and pork cheek sliders, as well as cheese and charcuterie.

Coogee Wine Room is slated to open in September at 222 Coogee Bay Road, Coogee. For more details, head to coogeewineroom.com.au.
