French bar à vin Little Felix opens in the Ivy precinct

Saunter in for French toasties and magnums by the glass.

Little Felix, the handsome younger brother of French bistro Felix, has just opened at The Ivy precinct in the Sydney CBD.

Inspired by the 1920s, the dark and moody bar à vin is set to be ‘the place’ to hang around till late, drinking wine and talking literature, à la Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Magnums will be a feature.

Put together by group bars manager, Sam Egerton, the cocktail list draws inspiration from 20th-century Parisian bars and hotels, with a line-up that includes a thyme-spiked French 75 and a Sidecar splashed with Le Birlou, an apple and chestnut liqueur.

The wine list, curated by master sommelier Franck Moreau and Jean-Charles Mahe, will focus on European drops, with all wines by the glass poured from 1.5 litre magnums. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more obscure, you’ll also be able to borrow a bottle from Felix next door.

The cheese station.

To complement the French wine list, Felix’s head chef Nathan Johnson has designed a petite snack menu, made up of charcuterie, cheese and tartines, which are French open-faced toasties.

Little Felix is the first of four new bars and eateries scheduled to open in The Ivy laneway this year.
