What's my age again?

One of Sydney’s longest running nightclubs is relaunching after 24 years of partying. The iconic clubbing icon Cargo Bar is officially rejoining King Street Wharf after a huge four-month renovation.

The Darling Harbour bar is still very much retaining it’s nightclub DNA, but is back with a slick new look, over its two levels including updates to the ground floor main room and the level one lounge featuring cutting-edge lighting and dance-worthy sound systems, a luxe VIP area, and new bar, lounge and dining spaces.

Level one has had an old-world glow up, with the vast, emerald-veined marble bar stealing the show, complimented by luxe emerald-hued carpet and furnishings.

When you need a breather, head out to the revamped Palm Springs-inspired al fresco beer garden to get some of the ocean breeze before diving back into the party.

Incidentally, the summery deck is a killer spot for a long lunch gazing at the water or a transporting post-work cocktail from where you’d rather be. Cocktails range from the classics like Aperol Spritz’ and and French Martinis to the nostalgic and possibly ill-advised Skittle Bombs and Birthday Cake shots. Do with this information what you will.

Before you party like it’s 2009, make sure you fuel up with chef Jason Roberson’s new all-day menu of casual and tasty bites. Chicken schnitzel burgers, miso roasted eggplant, and fish tacos are all on the bill plus plenty of sharing boards to pick at over drinks with the gang.

Cargo Bar will open to the public on May 31 from 9pm at 52-60 The Promenade, King Street Wharf. For more details head to the website.
