There's a new, more affordable way to dine at Oncore by Clare Smyth

Now's your chance.

If you’ve been waiting for a promotion or a proposal before you book Sydney’s most celebrated fine diner, you can quit holding out.

There’s a new way, more affordable way to experience Oncore by Clare Smyth. Three-Michelin-starred chef Clare Smyth touched down in Sydney last month to launch the restaurant’s new bar menu, which features smaller versions of her signature dishes, for an equally reduced price.

“We wanted to offer something for people who don’t want to commit to the full dining experience. You can order as much or as little as you want. You can order a few cocktails, you can bring your friends and just enjoy a less formal style of dining,” Clare Smyth tells delicious.

Small, snacky plates are also a big trend in Sydney right now, and it’s great to see Oncore get onboard.

“I love to dine like that as well,” Smyth says. “I’m not always up for a big meal. Of course, sometimes you want to go out and have that full experience, but a lot of the time you don’t. It’s good to have the option and the flexibility.”

Small but perfectly formed, the line-up includes mini masterpieces like the “Potato and Roe” with seaweed beurre blanc, and the Core-teser, a grown-up take on the Malteser, which also happened to be MasterChef Australia grand finale dessert challenge.

And the food isn’t the only drawcard. The bar also boasts one of the best views in Sydney. Located on level 26 of Crown Sydney, the elegant yet relaxed space features an eye-catching textured stone bar, with a huddle of  padded armchairs and low tables, which look out across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and sparkling harbour. It’s jaw-dropping stuff.

“We just want to get people using the space,” says Smyth.
