*Puts on out of office*
After nine months of renovations, The Straddie Hotel has officially reopened with a fresh new look – just in time for summer.
Perched on the edge of Queensland’s North Stradbroke Island, the iconic pub has undergone a major redevelopment after 62 years of serving sea breezes, cold beers and sun-drenched memories.

Now, The Straddie is stepping into a new era, unveiling expanded seating, two revamped bars and a bright menu built for long, lazy afternoons.
So, what’s on offer?
We recommend starting at the new breezy upper deck where you can sip on an Aperol spritz (or two) and soak up panoramic views over the turquoise Coral Sea.

Expect a varied selection of schnitties, loaded burgers and steaks with the addition of fresh summer plates of burrata and peach, crunchy slaw salads and fresh Japanese rice bowls.

There’s hand-stretched pizza for groups and plenty of seafood nods to the island itself: fish tacos, a prawn-and-bug cocktail, and local Straddie oysters.
Two new bars keep the drinks flowing: the refreshed main bar beside the bistro for quick cocktail refills or an icy schooner, and a second bar positioned right in the heart of the action.

You’ll find a full lineup of drinks across both bars, from an easy-going selection of wines, sparkling and ice-cold brews to classic cocktails and house signatures. Be sure to try the Straddie Island Iced Tea – a sunny mix of vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec and pineapple juice – or the slushie of the month if you want a hit of nostalgia.
Don’t let wet weather dampen your spirits. The expanded deck features an operable roof system that shields from rain while still flooding the space with light – and, crucially – keeping those views uninterrupted.
