Inner west favourite Daisy’s Milkbar has announced it will be extending its trading hours, sharing its retro offerings with now both early birds and night owls alike. While brunch options will continue, the Petersham venue will be now be open for dinner Thursday through Saturday from 6-10pm. Retro still reigns when it comes to fare, with the likes of burgers, jaffles, rissoles, schnitty dippers, deep fried mac ’n’ cheese bites, homemade cherry pie and ice cream sundaes gracing menus. These will be joined by boozy milkshakes and a 1970s-inspired nibbles plate (cob loaf included), as well as a selection of natural wines from P&V Merchants and beer and cider from Young Henry’s. “I originally thought the shop could be turned into a really cute night time dessert and coffee house but then expanded on that idea to include dinner and drinks,” says owner Jess de Varine-Bohan. As for Daisy’s future, the possibilities are endless. “During the day we’re a cafe and milk bar, but at night we’re not a cafe anymore but not really a restaurant or bar either so we can have lots of fun with the space and menu. Once we’ve been opening at nights a bit longer I’d love to do themed nights and events too,” Jess continues. Daisy’s Milkbar 340 Stanmore Road, Petersham daisysmilkbar.com
