Let’s face it – these days it’s just as important for a venue to look great on the ‘gram as it is to have a great menu. And with the likes of London’s Sketch flooding feeds daily, there’s tough competition when it comes to proving a firm favourite on the social media platform. But, in our opinion, we’ve found a venue that gives Sketch and its social savvy friends a run for its money – introducing NAC (North Audley Cantine). Sitting in London’s Mayfair, the bar serves up a slew of French-style plates, dessert, and bespoke cocktails. And while it’s ground-floor restaurant is decidedly sleek, it is its underground bar that is proving the crowd-pleaser. Sitting only 22, the intimate space was designed by designers Christian Ducker and Tyeth Gundry of London-based Gundry + Ducker and dressed in largely pastels. The designers embraced plenty of round shapes, rich velvet booths, light marbles, mirrors and bespoke lighting in their latest creation. “During the design phase of this project we were interested in 1940’s Hollywood for its combination of optimism and glamor, a deliberate contrast to the rough wood/industrial aesthetic still common place in London,” Tyeth Gundry explained of his vision to The Cool Hunter.
