An iconic wedding venue will relaunch as a refined all-day eatery in September.

If you live on the northern beaches of Sydney, chances are you’ve been to a wedding at Dunes. The iconic Palm Beach venue is famous for its idyllic coastal backdrop, where peachy dunes meet sprawling native flora. And with new owners Brett Conway (Three Blue Ducks) and Jesse McTavish (ex-North Bondi Fish) taking over this September, it’s very soon going to be known for its food too.

From next month, Dunes at Palm Beach will relaunch as an all-day eatery with breezy vacation vibes, where sandy feet and surfboards are welcome. The new café will sling Reuben Hills coffee and Berkelo bread for breakfast, followed by freshly shucked rock oysters and Champagne for lunch. Making the most of its unique setting, the menu will also include foraged coastal ingredients, like beach mustard, Warrigal greens and rambling dock.

The venue will also debut a fresh new look, curated by Olivia Bossy. The design will channel a boutique hotel, with both casual dining and lounge areas perfect for sipping a negroni and snacking on house-grown olives.

Interiors will nod to the seaside location with a sandy palette of handmade ceramic lights, Japanese tile accents and a raw fibreglass bar. A stunning alfresco gazebo will make the most of the Palm Beach breezes, offering a photogenic spot for weddings, should you be lucky enough to score an invite.
