The hidden garden oasis you need to add to your brunch list.
While Sydney’s Woollahra has a reputation for leafy streets and drool-worthy buildings, it’s a suburb that is seemingly lacking when it comes to cafe options. But lauded interiors store Parterre is set to change that, opening a cafe this morning to accompany its interiors boutique.
The back courtyard of the Woollahra space has been transformed into a hidden oasis serving up breakfast and lunch options to guests. To be expected, the adjoining cafe is well-designed and mirrors the French Provincial style of the store. The cafe is decked out with antique 19th-century cast iron mirrors and 1900s garden furniture, on which you can sit and sip your All Press Coffee and tuck into tartines with savoury toppings, pastries and bread from Organic Bread Bar.
There’s also a 25-year-old olive tree planted in a 19th-century French steel boiler drum to admire. The lavish space comes courtesy of the talents of Kirsten Jenkins, who as the style editor of delicious. knows a thing or two about good design.
