Pasta fiend? Then you'll love breakfast carbonara

Breakfast carbonara

Finally a way to tuck into pasta for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Pasta for breakfast is now an acceptable way to start the day thanks to Melbourne’s Mr Ottorino’s. The inner north venue has just opened its doors for breakfast and is forgoing the traditional brunch fare, instead embracing the Italian-inspired.

Alongside the hung buffalo milk yoghurt pana cotta topped with fig and almonds granola and in-house seasonal poached fruits, there is the signature Brekkie Carbonara. Executive chef Matteo Tine believes its something that considering how popular pasta is Down Under, the dish will no doubt prove a popular one. “We wanted to give people the chance to try something a little bit different – traditional Italian breakfast is something that we haven’t seen much of in Melbourne. At Mr Ottorino it’s all about delicious food and great value coffee. Besides, who doesn’t want to eat pasta for breakfast,” he says.

Guests will be able to partner their Brekkie Carbonara with house special the Mr O’s Spicy Bloody Mary (made with house-made spiced tomato sugo, celery and vodka) and the venue’s much loved one Euro coffee from Caffé Trombetta.
