Get in early because the venue overflows with visitors at all hours, thanks to its array of speciality brews and coffees, and nourishing brunch offerings. It may be impossible to find a cafe that is more ‘Byron’ than The Roadhouse. The sprawling establishment sits five minutes from the town centre and is a rustic-chic space frequented by many of the town’s creative types. The light-filled venue was born and run by a small group of friends who focus on sustainable farming and whole foods. The menu changes daily but always offers creative brunches and an increasingly lengthy cocktail list.

The venue is particularly popular for the tourist set of Northern New South Wales and its not hard to see why considering the venue is host to a handful of different businesses on the one plot of land. A paddock to plate mentality can be found at Three Blue Ducks with the majority of produce used for dishes grown onsite or nearby.

Nestled amidst a palm-lined street of homes is the casual brunch venue that focuses on takeaway options. Acai bowls, burgers (particularly of the bacon and egg variety) and delectable coffees are the venue’s specialty. While seating is limited (reduced to a handful of tables and benches) it does nothing to stop the constant stream of customers who often dine picnic-style on the grassy knoll out front.
