Burger favourite Mary’s turns its hand to breakfast

Mary's Burger.

Newtown's favourite food family turns its attention to the morning meal.

Having already overtaken the burger world, Mary’s have turned their efforts to the morning meal. Starting next week, Mary’s Sydney CBD outpost will be welcoming a breakfast menu (alongside a revamped space) to accommodate the cravings of worker bees, and soothe a few sore heads.

Self-proclaimed saviours to the hungover, the Mary’s team will be serving up sweet and savoury options for breaking fast from 6.30-10.00am, Monday to Friday. Think indulgent breakfast muffins, hotcakes, crumpets and (of course) a breakfast burger to enjoy. There will of course also be coffee on hand, provided by Newtown locals Loggerhead Coffee Co. Espresso-based coffee, filter and bottled cold brews will be available., as well as chai and turmeric latte for the health inclined.

Of their involvement, Loggerhead Coffee Co founder Tobin Ventham says, “Launching the Loggerhead brand with like minded people in a busy city location is a no brainer for us. Working alongside friends who we admire both personally and in business is just an added bonus. The concept of Loggerhead coffee co. is delicious caffeinated beverages to fuel creativity and fun… quality, uncomplicated & approachable.”

Having their Newtown neighbours join them on the new morning venture was also important for the Mary’s team. “We have been 212 devotees since they opened their doors- their special blend of care and charm has created a special place in our community. When we took Mary’s to the CBD, we wanted to bring it a slice of Newtown – when it came to a coffee joint to kick our breakfasts off, there was only one choice for us,” says owner Jake Smyth.
