A highly acclaimed chef is behind this new Israeli street food eatery

Fine dining chef, Charlie Carrington from Atlas Dining, has launched a Mediterranean street food eatery, specialising in fluffy stuffed pitas that you don’t need to wait until midnight to tuck into.

Taking over from Colours, a short-lived vegan offering also by Carrington, Lomah takes its name as well as its culinary inspiration from the ‘land of milk and honey’, a biblical reference to the Jewish promised lands, which extends across modern-day Israel and Egypt.

Slide by for a tray meal.

Swing by during the day for tray meals, heaped with tender shreds of Gippsland Southdown lamb, Nichol’s free-range chicken, smoked river trout or fried eggplant, served alongside fresh, zingy slaws and vibrant salads.

If you’re on the go, you can get the whole lot stuffed into a puffed-up pita. Turn it into a proper meal with a serve of za’atar fries or a bag of homemade falafels drizzled in tahini.

The Prahan venue is the second Lomah outpost to open in Melbourne this year, with the first launching in the ELLA precinct.
