Melbourne has long been recognised as one of the nation’s most design-savvy cities. This especially applies to its eateries it seems, if you take a look at dessert haven Piccolina Gelateria which was recently photographed by Yellowtrace. The Collingwood favourite has been redesigned by multi-award winning creatives Hecker Guthrie, who presented a look much inspired by 1950s Italy – a request from owner Sandra Fonit. Plenty of green throughout the space represents the Italian flag, with a hefty restoration of the space’s original features also incorporated, from terrazzo floor to stone archway and metal ceilings.
