There’s a new dining precinct heading Brisbane’s way

Rooftop bars, an outdoor cinema, and food trucks aplenty are just the start.

Fortitude Valley is a suburb renowned with its multitude of clubs, bars, and music venues, but the district looks set to shake its reputation as an after-hours-only destination thanks to a new arrival. Come spring this year; Fortitude Valley will welcome a new dining precinct to the inner-city area called X Cargo.

Sitting snug on the largely industrial McLachlan Street, X Cargo will present an entirely new offering to Brisbane patrons. Connecting the clubbing centre of Brunswick Street with the swanky shopping strip of James Street, X Cargo will be bringing to life a somewhat quiet section of Fortitude Valley.

The multi-purpose space is to be made entirely out of shipping containers and will play host to a beer garden, scattered rooftop terraces, and (in typical Queensland fashion) a tropical garden. An outdoor cinema is also expected to be incorporated.

The open-air market has been heralded as an all-hours venue, an indoor/outdoor bar and dining area that will serve up breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week. Speciality coffee and a variety of bar options have also been promised, alongside an alleyway that will host a constant rotation of food trucks.
