Would you try it?
An Adelaide restaurant has come up with a unique way to celebrate Australia Day this year.
Rather than stick to the usual lamingtons OR barbecue, they’ve decided to combine two of our most iconic dishes into one, creating a lamington burger.
Available at Chuck Wagon 175, the new menu item replaces the usual burger buns with two chocolate and coconut lamingtons – no word yet on whether they’re jam and cream-filled.
Taking to social media, Chuck Wagon 175 shared a photo of the new offering with a caption that read: “Alright she’s on! Australia Day is coming and we’re rolling out the specials! Double beef, double bacon, double cheese between two Aussie lamingtons! Say what you want.. you know you love it! Available Australia Day week!”
Despite Chuck Wagon’s enthusiasm, not everyone was convinced, with some calling it an “abomination”.
“Why oh why spoil a perfectly good lamington,” one user commented.
“Absolutely no structural integrity whatsoever, this would be a red-hot disaster to eat,” said another.
“What, no pickles?”
While the lack of pickles, pineapple and beetroot did seem to bother some, others were more positive.
“This looks weird but yet I still want to try it.”
