There'll be plates by Pavoni, Pilu, Galletto and Percuoco.
Cancel your afternoon plans and keep the evening free for a lie-down – a new Italian long lunch series is coming to Sydney.
The lunch series will celebrate the fine art of the Italian long lunch, which typically involves eating and drinking until you burst, burrata-style.
Hosting the series will be the four godfathers of Italian cuisine in Sydney – Alessandro Pavoni (a’Mare, Ormeggio at The Spit), Giovanni Pilu (Pilu at Freshwater), Lucio Galletto (Lucio’s), and Armando Percuoco (Buon Ricardo).
Alessandro Pavoni will team up with one chef for each event, with the lunches to be held in the breezy al fresco setting of a’Mare at Crown Sydney.

The menu will revolve around the regional cuisine of each chef’s origin. The Pilu lunch (April 30) will delve into the island fare of Sardinia, meanwhile, Galletto (June 4) will traverse Liguria and Percucco (July 30) will venture to Naples. Diners can expect a multi-course feast with regional wines to match (optional).
Pavoni said, “I am excited to be partnering with the chefs who have shaped Italian dining in Sydney for over four decades. Lucio and Armando were both at the helm of Sydney institutions when their restaurants were in operation, so it’s special to get them back in the kitchen for diners to again enjoy their cooking. I couldn’t think of a better place to be working with them and Giovanni than the kitchen at a’Mare.”
Tickets to the ‘Italian Maestros’ Long Lunch are priced at $190pp, which include a glass of Italian prosecco upon arrival. For more details or to book, head to crownsydney.com.au.
